Reif Performing Arts Center, 720 NW Conifer Dr, Grand Rapids, MN 55744, USA

It was roughly a decade ago that Pert Near Sandstone first gathered around a microphone in a Minneapolis basement to record their debut album, Up And Down The River. So much has happened since then: highs and lows, personal struggles and artistic triumphs, new faces and new sounds. The winding road they’ve traveled over the years makes it all the more meaningful for the band to come full circle on their dazzling new release, Discovery Of Honey, which finds them once again recording in a basement and reuniting with founding member Ryan Young, who’s spent the past seven years touring the world playing fiddle with bluegrass stars Trampled By Turtles.

Sacred Earth explores the interconnectedness between human emotions and the environment that shapes them. Performed with live music, the dancers create a sacred space to honor the divinity in the natural world and the sustenance we derive from it. Inspired by the philosophies behind the ephemeral arts of kolam and Warli painting and the Tamil Sangam literature of India, Sacred Earth is Ranee and Aparna Ramaswamy’s singular vision of the beautiful, fragile relationship between nature and man.

Please come out and support your local Itasca County Sheriff's Office K9 team! We will have a taco bar and GREAT silent auction and raffle prizes! Money raised will be used to much needed upgrades to the K9 program after the addition of TWO new K9's last year 🙂

Come out and meet the two new Itasca County K9's!

These guys (as well as the rest of our local law enforcement) are a tremendous asset to our community. On top of the more obvious criminal apprehension and drug detection type of tasks the K9's provide, they are also present at many of our community events and in our school systems, meeting with and educating our students.

We will update the event page as we get more auction prizes lined up, so please check back.

Taco bar - $10/adults, $6/kids six years old and under 🙂

Please share so we can make this event HUGE and help keep this program strong!

Call ahead to reserve seating is a must as I have limited seating. Check the calendar on my website to see the painting for that Thursday or call and to set up a special event or painting you would prefer.
