Being outdoors while on spring break in northern Minnesota is the perfect way to spend time together as a family. Exploring Minnesota’s nature is a kid-friendly activity where you can  get outdoors together. There are a wide variety of trails to enjoy on over 1 million publicly accessible forest acres in the Chippewa National Forest, UPM Blandin Forest, George Washington State Forest, and Scenic State Park

Some of our favorite trails are Tioga Recreation Area where you can mountain bike on over 25 miles of multi-level, single track trails. You can also ice fish on the 1,140 area lakes. Ardent Bicycles offer mountain bike & fat tire bike rentals. It is pretty typical that in March and April there is still snow on the ground and ice on the area lakes in northern Minnesota. But, there is the occasional year where mother nature presents less snow, but still ice on area lakes.
