Local Groomers and Snowmobile Clubs are reporting trails in overall GOOD or Very good condition. 

See specific trail reports below.

Always remember that 85% of Minnesota snowmobile and ski trails are maintained by volunteers.  Be courteous and don't forget to thank them for keeping the trails open for you to enjoy.

Local Club Trails - Updated as groomers call in with reports
 
Driftskipper Trails:   2-02-2010
Trails are being groomed and the entire Driftskipper system was groomed on Tuesday.  The new snow leveled things out and the trails are in GOOD CONDITION.  The club groomer says this is the best they have been all season.

The Driftskippers now have an answering machine at their clubhouse if you would like to hear the current conditions by phone; it is 1-218-326-6727. 
 
Itasca Snow Rangers:  2-08-2010
Keystone, most of the Diamond Lake, and Hornet Spur Trails were groomed Sunday night for midweek riding. There is a 6 inch base on the trail and are in EXCELLENT CONDITION.

The north end of the Diamond Lake trail from the City of Taconite to the Diamond Lake Road is not being groomed at this time.  See map for other good routes around that section, or just know that it isn't groomed.
 
Marcell Club:  2-08-2010
The 105 miles of trails including: Marcell, Effie Connection, Wilderness Willie, Bigfork Lions and portions of the Bowstring and Cameron are groomed in in GOOD CONDITION. The Marcell Club covers the area surrounding Marcell, Talmoon, Bowstring, Bigfork, Effie, Craigsville and almost to Togo.
 
38'ers Club:  1-29-2010
Trail being groomed on Friday and should be in GOOD CONDITION for the weekend.  Clearwater Trail is a little thin in spots because of the wind.  Watch for water in low-lying areas.

Taconite Trail - Northeast out of Grand Rapids toward Ely:  
Condition:   FAIR   Base: 1-3 inches
Last Reported Grooming:  Scheduled for grooming, will be done in time for the weekend.
 
Bear Lake Trail - Nashwauk Area NE of Grand Rapids:
Condition:   FAIR  Base: 1-3 inches
Last Reported Grooming: 1-08-2010
Trail east of Bear lake to Stony Ridge shelter on Taconite groomed on 1/8/10. No grooming has been done since that date.
 
Scenic State Park Trail - Bigfork: 
Condition:  GOOD   Base: 5 inches
Last Reported Grooming: 1-26-2010
 
Tim Corey Trail: 
Condition:   FAIR   Base: 1-3 inches
Last Reported Grooming: 2-04-2010
Watch for logging activity.
Scheduled for grooming, will be done in time for the weekend.
 
Circle L&T Trails: 
Condition:  FAIR    Base: 1-3 inches
Last Reported Grooming:  2-04-2010
The trail will be groomed by this weekend.  Heavy snow is causing some hanging branches over the trail in spots.

The new snowfall is making for excellent cross country ski conditions once the individual trails get groomed.  It may take a few days for all of the trails to be groomed, but below is a list of currently available trails as reported by volunteer groomers.
