Take a step back in time with your stay at the historic Gilbert Mansion Bed & Breakfast!

Experience the opulence and grandeur of days gone by at the Gilbert Mansion; the 1904 home of one of Grand Rapids’ founding fathers, wealthy businessman William Gilbert and his family.  A private residence for more than a century, the mansion was opened for tours in 2014, and is now a full service Bed & Breakfast.  The home itself has remained virtually unchanged.  As you enter through the massive front door surrounded by gleaming leaded glass, it’s is as if you have been transported back in time. Completely furnished in period antiques including many of the original owners’ items, the Gilbert Mansion provides an atmosphere unlike anything in the area.

Three floors of the home and the entire grounds are yours to enjoy!  You’ll begin each day with an elegant multi-course breakfast served on antique china in our beautiful dining room. You’ll have access to your own bedroom, two shared baths, living room, formal dining room, parlor, large covered front porch and yard/gardens. Our Ballroom is currently undergoing renovation work and will soon be available to guests. Guided tours of the home are available upon request. One hour tour includes 17 rooms of the mansion with complete history of the Gilbert family and early Grand Rapids…..very interesting!

If you’re traveling for business, each of our guest rooms has its own desk and high speed WiFi is available throughout the house and grounds.
