NASHWAUK SPORT AND TRAVEL SHOW
This show is a hit evey year. With vendors selling items ranging from ATVs to baby blankets, to services for your home, you have to attend this show. It allows community members to get many home made items and shop around for products and services right in their backyard. It is located at the recreation center in Nashwauk. This event will take place on April 11 & 12th, 2014.
THE BOOTIQUE
The Bootique is held at the Nashwauk Recreation Center on the first Friday and Saturday of October. The show has over 60 booths and a variety of items. There is also a lot of great food too. Come and check it out.
ANNUAL NASHWAUK CHRISTMAS LIGHTING CONTEST
Time to decorate the house! The Nashwauk Chamber of Commerce will pick winners from our community who decorated their house with holiday decorations. This event occurs in the month of December.
NASHWAUK CITY-WIDE GARAGE SALES
A map is created with all participating garage sales in Nashwauk. It’s an all-day event and there are many participants allowing great options for treasure hunting. This event occurs in the month of August.
MESABI TRAIL
A trail currently covering 75 miles of paved path to walkers and bike riders, connecting communities such as Grand Rapids, Nashwauk, Keewatin, Hibbing, Chisholm, Mt. Iron and Virginia. You can access the trail from many neighboring campgrounds and parks.
ATV & SNOWMOBILE TRAILS
Snowmobilers visiting the Iron Range will be thrilled with more than 2,000 miles of groomed snowmobile trails connecting Eveleth to International Falls or Grand Rapids to Ely. Take the Nashwauk Connection and cruise the local trails, or pick up the Taconite Trail for a marathon of fun in the snow! ATV’ers will enjoy the access to numerous trails in the area. We are located only minutes from the Alborn trail. From there you can connect to many more great trails.
HAWKINS OBSERVATION PIT
People who never saw the mines in their glory during full operation are amazed when they look out over the Hawkins Mine. The Hawkins mine was the first mine in Itasca County, shipping out 25-million tons of iron ore between 1902 and 1962. Located in the heart of Nashwauk.
SUMMER & WINTER RECREATION
The City of Nashwauk offers winter ice skating at the Nashwauk Recreation Center. Located within the city is also two baseball fields and a football field. There is also a basketball court and a large playground.
NASHWAUK RV PARK
The City of Nashwauk RV campers and tenters a place to stay. With full service water, sewer and garbage, this is a perfect location to spend time. Located near by is a picnic area, a pavilion (can be rented) and showers.
HUNTING AND FISHING
This area is known to offer hunters and fisherman a great getaway. There are literally thousands of lakes in the Nashwauk area, stocked with northern pike, muskie, bass, walleye and a variety of pan fish. It’s also a hunter’s paradise, offering excellent conditions for deer, black bear, ruffed grouse, duck or geese.
