Magical Frybread Drive-In

Fire in the Village presents
MAGICAL FRYBREAD DRIVE-IN
Summer 2026 Mini Mobile Music Fest!
Join us at the Old Central School in Room 203 (Grand Rapids) to be inspired, fed, and empowered!
Featuring poetry and music from:
🔥 Brian Babb (San Diego, CA)
🔥 Justice Humphrey (Leech Lake Rez)
🔥 and Annie Humphrey (Leech Lake Rez) with Jeremy Ylvisaker (Minneapolis, MN)
Frybread came from struggle and hard times for the people (Anishinaabe) who were forced off their lands and onto reservations to live on rations. Flour, lard, salt … Frybread is a symbol of Aanishinaabe outlasting them (The industrial ruling class).
Each Magical Frybread Drive-in is a mobile mini music festival. It starts with social time of frybread & printmaking, followed by a music / poetry / spoken word concert.
The spirit of the people is what makes it magical!
Join us, let’s be coherent together.
