130th Anniversary Visitors Day

The University of Minnesota (UMN) is celebrating 130 years of agricultural and forestry research in Grand Rapids.

The station began as the Agriculture Experiment Station as part of the Land Grant to the UMN in 1896, then transitioned through the 1900s as a hub of research in agriculture and forestry. The “Ag school” had instructional classes and housed livestock including dairy cattle, hogs, sheep, chickens and more. During the 1960s the Ag School at the station shifted focus to be primarily a research station and the North Central station in Grand Rapids joined a network of Research and Outreach Centers (ROCs) within the College of Food Agriculture and Natural Resource Sciences (CFANS). You are invited to spend the day learning about the history and future of the North Central ROC.

To celebrate this milestone, we are hosting
