Things To Do

Get pampered at our local Spa Service Providers in town. True North Salon is located within historic Central School Marketplace in the center of downtown. They offer facials, manicures and pedicures, hair services (cuts, blowouts, styling, etc), and make-up services. They are an exclusive Aveda salon. Sukha is a location that houses four businesses under one roof. There is Salon Brad which offers full service hair and waxing services.  Bala Skin and Laser offers laser hair reduction & skin resurfacing, dermablading, Botox, fillers, chemical peels, micropen, massage, body scrubs, manis, pedis, facials and skincare. Center Fitness is a Mind and body fitness studio dedicated to providing intelligent instruction so that you get more out of every workout. NoPo Coffee Company is an adorable cafe that has great coffee, tea, beer, wine, and a great little breakfast and lunch menu.  Synergy within Wellness offers certified integrative nutrition health coaching, massage therapy, and personal training. Some of these businesses also offer off-site services where they could be scheduled in advance to come right to you at your lodging property.

A great way for you and your girlfriends to spend time together is creating something to take home as a memory of your time together. In Grand Rapids we have a rich artistic culture to create art in a natural setting. MacRostie Art Center offers a wide variety of art classes for beginners to advanced students. They can also connect you with an artists that would be interested in coming to you to teach a class. Classes range from painting, pottery, jewelry making, paper making, etc.

Take advantage of the natural setting of Grand Rapids, by getting out into nature and experiencing something unique like Paddling the Mississippi or Hiking the Lost Forty, or bicycling the Mesabi Trail or Mississippi River Trail. Paddle Hoppers offers guided paddles of the Mississippi River and rents paddle equipment for you to take to the resort you are staying at. Itasca Trail Sports offers bike rentals. Grand Rapids also has a Bike Share Program. You can check out a bike at the Grand Rapids City Hall, Library or Itasca YMCA. All you need is a photo id.

We have several live music options at , a new craft brewery called Klockow Brewing Company that allows you to bring food in and listen to their great Minnesota bands each weekend. The Reif Center has weekly performances September through May of each year to check out.

Grand Rapids has a charming downtown that is great for shop walking. The little boutique style shops are unique and offer one of a kind items that you cannot find anywhere else. You will find unique clothing options, up north finds, Minnesota made, antiques, junk, Or maybe you are looking to bring home a little memento of your trip to Grand Rapids, you will find that too! Dining

Dining out is one of the greatest pleasures we can afford ourselves. Someone waits on you, fixes a great meal, and cleans up after you. How great is this! In Grand Rapids you will find a wide variety of restaurants, bar & grilles, and cafes to suit your palette. While you are out shopping, you will want to stop in at Brewed Awakening to grab a in house brewed coffee, tea, fresh bakery item, or homemade gelatto. They are a great place to grab a quick lunch, and they specialize in vegetarian menu items. Forest Lake Restaurant makes a great bar burger, known for their steakhouse ribs, steaks, and wild rice soup. Florio’s is the perfect place to get homestyle cooking like their broasted chicken, fried fish, and peel and eat shrimp. 17th Street Grille offers a fresh salad bar for lunch, and chef inspired menu that changes seasonally and nightly chef specials. The Pickled Loon is located on Pokegama Lake and offers a full menu and nightly specials like All You Can Eat Blue Gill, Crab Legs, and prime rib. Sammy’s Pizza is the best pizza in town. They also serve a full menu with great appetizers, and other Italian inspired dishes. Jimmy Johns is a sub shop that delivers in town freaky fast. The Grand Rapids Dairy Queen is the perfect place to grab a smoothie, ice cream, or grill items.
