Grand Rapids Fishing Report 6-12-19
This week’s Grand Rapids Fishing Report 6-12-19 is brought to you by Grant Prokop, owner Thousand Lakes Sporting Goods.
With it being the Middle of June the fishing has been excellent. Pokegama, Trout in Coleraine, and Big Winnie have been great places to start your next day of fishing. Walleyes are still using shoreline structure and being caught on a jig and minnow or leech. Lindy rigs and a leech have started to come into play, with the fish starting to slide out towards humps. There has been quite a few customers catching fish on Crankbaits as well.
Panfish have still been very good option in the shallow water. Using a bobber with a minnow or leech have been a great presentation. Sunfish are on their beds, just remember to let the big ones go. Depending on the body of water they can be 20-30 year old blue gills! Bass fishing has been very good this last week. Smallmouth bass have been eating Jerkbaits and hair jigs. Largemouth bass have been on the chow. For largemouth Jigs, Senko or top water has been about the best choice. The fishing has been excellent, get outside and enjoy it!
