We’re excited to be back on tour this fall with art and music to feed our inner fires and help us remember that we are power!
This year’s theme, ‘Warriors and the Powerless,’ echos a message that Fire in the Village artist and musician Annie Humphrey weaves into each of her performances:
“If ever you are feeling powerless, remember that power is just a thought away.”
Like last year, each tour stop includes a daytime community meal and art workshop, followed by an evening art and music concert. Workshops are generally from 12 to 2PM and include lunch, printmaking activities, and storytelling.
Evening concerts start with a spirited social hour from 6-7PM, followed by music and stories from Annie Humphrey and friends.
Shows will happen in the cities of Minneapolis and Duluth, as well as in small towns across our rural region, including Aitkin, Grand Rapids, and Bemidji.
The tour also showcases creative collaborations Fire in the Village has been developing with schools and community groups serving Native and rural youth, elders, and neighbors. It will culminate in very special concert on November 15th honoring one of Annie’s mentors, poet, artist and activist John Trudell.
