The History of Minnesota’s Forests

Minnesota’s forests have been shaped by natural events for four and a half billion years, and by human intervention for at least 10,000 years. While natural events provide perhaps the most dramatic effect, human impacts are more apparent in day-to-day encounters with the forest. Brad Jones will provide a perspective on how changing management practices over the past several centuries have shaped the forest we have today.
