Our Future Forests Workshop
We welcome you to attend the Our Future Forests Workshop, October 4, 2025 in Grand Rapids, MN.
You are already visiting Itasca County in October because of our autumn colors or maybe to spend some time on the lake.
As you know, our forests and woodlands are sources of habitat for wildlife and natural beauty and have an important economic role through recreation and timber.
The goal of the Our Future Forests Workshop is to engage with you and encourage healthy forests in a time of change.
You will learn about changes happening in our woodlands from climate and pests and be empowered with the knowledge and resources to support healthy forests and woodlands.
Topics include: Climate-Ready Woodlands, Building a Forest-Gauging Forest Health, Pollinators, Wildlife- Mammals and Birds, Forest Pests, and Stewardship Planning.
Part of the Workshop includes touring through a woodland.
Our Future Forests is open to all regardless of whether you own 100 acres, 1 acre, a small backyard, or live in an apartment! We are all part of the forest community.
Families are welcome. There will be refreshments and lunch.
