Concordia Orchestra

Founded in 1967 by J. Robert Hanson ’51, the Concordia Orchestra is an auditioned ensemble composed of 75 student musicians from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. Currently under the direction of maestro Foster Beyers, the orchestra prides itself on a long history of regional and international travel. In May of 2014 the ensemble toured to Israel and Palestine, performing in Bethlehem, Ramallah, I’billin and Jerusalem. This concert will feature two faculty soloists: violinist, Sonja Harasim on Alban Berg’s Concerto for Violin and Orchestra and soprano, Lucy Thrasher on Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No.4 in G Major.
