CenterStage MN Concert Series Feature Minnesota Musicians

The ever popular CenterStage Minnesota Concert Series will be back this fall for its fourth season starting September 19th! This collaboration between community radio station, KAXE/KBXE Northern Community Radio and The Reif Arts Council, was created as a way to bring quality and also up-and-coming musicians from around our state to Grand Rapids. The series has thrived over the last years, engaging a younger audience while bringing some of the state’s best musicians to the Mary Ives Studio Theater. This theater offers an intimate performance place, a one of a kind listening room type of feel, where the musicianship, lyrics and stories are in the spotlight. In years past, the series has brought incredible acts like The Cactus Blossoms, Davina & The Vagabonds, The Lowest Pair, jeremy messersmith, Bad Bad Hats, and so many more.

And the 2019/2020 season? Get ready for powerful women, native voices, young up-and-comers, and a truly intimate experience with a musician who also plays Red Rocks.

Previous year’s CenterStage MN concert by Sam Miltich in the Ives Theater.

“I have been fortunate to work with The Reif Arts Council in putting this lineup together these four years. Something that has come out of this that I wasn’t quite expecting, has been the venue, the Mary Ives Studio Theater. It’s so intimate that it creates an experience you don’t typically get with concerts of this kind. The musicians love it. It doesn’t matter if you know the music going in, you’ll come out of it feeling like you know the artist on another level.” – Kari Hedlund, Music Director, KAXE/KBXE Northern Community Radio

“The CenterStage MN shows bring the best artists from the Minnesota music scene to Grand Rapids. Hosting them is our absolute privilege.” -Paul M. Gregersen, Reif Arts Council Marketing Director
