5. Enjoy The Outdoors

Hiking and biking are a great way to recharge your soul by being in nature. If you seek paved road/path for Biking: the Mesabi Trail is your perfect location. There is a Wheel Pass required to ride the Mesabi Trail. If you seek a wooded path for Hiking we suggest: Suomi Trail, Joyce Estates or Lost Forty. All three of these hiking paths are located within the Chippewa National Forest. If motorized recreation is your thing, then we have lots of ATV/OHV trails to enjoy! There are over 300 miles of designated wooded ATV/OHV trails, and our County and City roads are open to ATV/OHV travel. Maybe you looking to enjoy nature in a different way; take a scenic drive on the Great River Road or Edge of the Wilderness Scenic Byway . On all of these scenic roads you will find way side stops, and wooded trails to explore.

4. Dining & Beverages

Vacation is the time to try new food and beverage experiences. In Grand Rapids you will experience rustic and charming to  chef inspired menu’s. There are the local favorites like Sammy’s Pizza, Brewed Awakenings, and Bixby’s. There is fine dining at Forest Lake Steakhouse and 17th Street Grill where you will find nightly Chef Specials. People have this stereotype that small towns have nothing going on, well that is NOT true! The Grand Rapids, MN area has all kinds of nightlife during the week and on weekends. Here are a few highlights: FREE Jazz Wednesdays at Grand Rapids VFW, BINGO and Meat Raffles happen on several days throughout the week and at several different locations. You can take in Live Music at Brewed Awakenings, Grand Rapids Eagles, Klockow Brewing Company. The LockerRoom Bar hosts acoustic music on Sundays. 2. Shopping

This section is probably geared more towards the female audience, but we think that Grand Rapids Shops have something for everyone! In Grand Rapids you will find unique boutique style shops that offer one of a kind items. You will also find a variety of vintage shops that offer everything from antiques to junk. You will find Minnesota made, locally made, and local art. A majority of the boutique style shops are located in small downtown stores, but you will also find vintage, farmhouse, up north and lake inspired items. You can spend a couple of hours or the entire day going from store to store. Pampering yourself on vacation is a real treat. In Grand Rapids you will find a couple of locations that are ready to pamper you while you are in town.
