1-31 Nordic Ridge Pumpkin Patch & Cowhorn Crossing Pumpkin Patch open for the season
1-31 Monthly Exhibit at the MacRostie Art Center: Todd Voss exhibit (painting) in the MacRostie Gallery, Coming Out exhibit in the Minnesota Gallery. Opening reception 10/1, 5-7pm.
1-3 Girlfriend Getaway Weekend @ Sugar Lake Lodge.  Retreat for busy women hosted by Karla Heeter.  Personal pampering, shopping, breakout sessions and more.
2 4th Annual Kickin' Leaves Duathlon @ Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital. 7:30a registration, 9:30a duathlon. 2.5 mile run, 10 mi bike ride, 2.5 mile run. Entry fee includes long-sleeve tee, $30 individual, $50 team.
3 West Range Country Show, 6:30p @ Greenway High School Auditorium. $7 Adults, $3 students, children under 5 are free.
November  2010
1-30 Monthly Exhibit at the MacRostie Art Center: Sarah Wieben (painting) in the MacRostie Gallery, and Ben Moore (drawing & painting) in the Minnesota Gallery.  Opening reception, Friday, November 5, 5p-7p.  Free and open to the public.
6 Firearm Deer Season Opens
6 Bambi on the Hood X, 7:30p @ Reif Performing Arts Center. Tickets $25.

1 Snowmobile Trails Open (depending on snow conditions)
1-31 Monthly Exhibit at the MacRostie Art Center, Holiday Marketplace in the MacRostie Gallery, and Wreath Auction in the Minnesota Gallery.  Holiday open house, November 26 & 27 from 10a-5p.  Free and open to the public.
4 Christmas in the Logging Camp, 10a-3p @ Forest History Center.  Costumed interpreters re-enact the Christmas celebrations of early lumber camps. Horses and sleighs moving around the camp add ambiance to the program. $8 adults, $6 seniors, $5 children.
11 Formal Colonial Christmas Dinner, 5:30p @ the Great Hall at the White Oak Fur Post, Deer River.  (5 course prime rib dinner, costumed servers, colonial atmosphere) $35 per ticket, reservations required.
31 Grand Rapids FIREWORKS display, 5:30p @ IRA Civic Center.
