1-31 Monthly Exhibit at the MacRostie Art Center: Coming Out - thematic, juried exhibit organized with OutFront Minnesota, the state's GLBT Online Community Center. Opening reception, Friday, October 2, 5p-7p.  Free and open to the public.
3 Waterfowl Opener
3 3rd Annual "Kickin' Leaves" Duathlon @ Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital; 7:30a registration, 9:30a duathlon.  (2.5 mile run, 10 mile bike ride, 2.5 mile run) Participants receive long sleeve t-shirt.  $30 individual, $50 team of 2-3 people.
3 Boo-tique Craft Show, 9a-4p @ Nashwauk Recreation Building.

1 Snowmobile Trails Open (depending on snow conditions)
1-31 Monthly Exhibit at the MacRostie Art Center: Holiday Marketplace in the MacRostie Gallery, and Wreath Auction in the Minnesota Gallery.  Opening reception, Friday, November 28, 5p-7p.  Free and open to the public.
5 Annual Christmas in the Logging Camp, 10a - 3p @ Forest History Center. Program invites the public to see the lumberjack camp under winter conditions.  Costumed interpreters provide holiday themed interpretations.  Horses and sleighs moving throughout the camp add ambiance to the program.  $4 adults, $1 children.
12 Formal Colonial Christmas Dinner, 5:30p @ the Great Hall at the White Oak Fur Post, Deer River.  (5 course prime rib dinner, costumed servers, colonial atmosphere) $35 per ticket, reservations required.
17 Itasca Orchestra and Strings Program Student Concert, 7:00p @ Reif Performing Arts Center. Free and open to the public.
